He told BBC Sussex: "We must learn the lesson from being knocked out of the Cup. We've been working hard in training to focus and not to slip up.
"Up until the last two games we'd been going along quite nicely. We're looking to recover that form."
Wilson believes they must keep the faith in their decision to blood young players in the first team.
"We trying to grow the youngsters," he added.
"We will show inconsistency from time to time in what we're trying to achieve.
"But we've got to put up with that. I think it's the right thing to do going forward."
